SKIN takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where New York City is 140 degrees and everyone lives in total isolation.

A teenage boy named Kai struggles to find intimacy through a new age device, “The Empath 2000,” which allows people to feel another person’s touch.

The Empath 2000 is a technological device that communicates through electrode patches that adhere to the skin. It is paired with the app of the same name, which allows you to book appointments with callers who simultaneously speak to you over the phone and communicate “touch sensations” through the device.
